Rolla Square is a historical site in Sharjah, named after the planting of the first banyan tree, known locally as a Rolla tree, in the 1800s. “We have developed a unique architectural plan for the square that meets modern standards and preserves the emirate's heritage and Islamic architectural styles,” said Al Mualla. Rolla Square covers 36,664m2. The municipality intends for 60% of the area to be landscaped, with the remaining 40% used for footpaths and fountains. |
