Cat Middle East sales growth slows in August

Caterpillar continues to see a rise in demand for its machinery but sales are being held back by China’s tighter fiscal controls and disruption caused by the tsunami disaster in Japan.

Cat revealed that global sales of its construction machinery rose 34% in the three months to the end of August and described as moderating in most regions.

Sales in Europe, Africa and the Middle East were up 46% in August a fall from the 51% rise in July and the 53% increase in June.
